# How to Invest in Cooperative Projects on EarthCoop

> Browse community-reviewed cooperative projects, invest your NajmBahar GOL balance, and track expected returns from payment through to completion.

The EarthCoop investment marketplace lets you put your NajmBahar balance to work by backing cooperative projects submitted by other community members and groups. Every project in the marketplace has passed an admin review, giving you a baseline of transparency before you commit any funds. This page explains how to find projects, make an investment, and understand what happens to your money from payment through to return.

  You need an active NajmBahar account with a sufficient GOL balance to invest. All funds are transferred within the NajmBahar financial system — no external payment methods are used.

## Browsing Approved Projects

Navigate to **NajmBahar → Investments → Opportunities** to see all projects that are currently open for investment. Only projects with an `approved` status appear here.

Each project listing shows:

* **Title and category path** (the full three-level occupational field hierarchy)
* **Project type** (public or private)
* **Funding goal** in GOL
* **Profit percentage** offered
* **Duration** in months
* **Investment progress** — total amount already invested and the number of investors, updated in real time

Click any project to open its detail page, where you can also read the project owner's summary and review the terms before deciding to invest.

  Investment progress is displayed publicly on every approved project page so the entire community can see how much funding has been raised and how many investors have participated.

## Making an Investment

  <Step title="Open the Project Detail Page">
    From the Opportunities listing, click the project you want to invest in to view its full details, including the business plan summary, profit percentage, duration, and current funding progress.

  <Step title="Enter Your Investment Amount">
    On the project detail page, enter the amount (in GOL) you want to invest. As you type, the platform automatically calculates your **expected return** based on the project's profit percentage and duration. Review this figure carefully before proceeding.

  <Step title="Submit the Investment Request">
    Click **Invest Now**. An investment record is created with status `pending` and you are redirected to the payment page.

  <Step title="Pay from Your NajmBahar Balance">
    On the payment page, confirm the transfer. The GOL amount is debited from your NajmBahar balance and credited to the project owner's NajmBahar account. Your investment is paid via your NajmBahar balance — no external payment method is required. You can review the transaction in your NajmBahar account history.

  <Step title="Investment Becomes Active">
    Once the transfer is confirmed, your investment status changes from `paid` to `active`. You will receive a notification confirming that your investment is live.

## Expected Return Calculation

Your expected return is calculated from three values set by the project owner at submission time and locked in upon approval.

For example, if you invest **10,000 GOL** in a project offering a **15% profit percentage**, your expected return is **11,500 GOL**.

  The profit percentage and duration are fixed for the life of the investment. Review both figures on the project detail page before you commit.

## Investment Statuses

Your investment moves through the following statuses from the moment you submit until completion.

| Status        | Meaning                                                                              |
| ------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| **pending**   | Investment request created. Awaiting payment.                                        |
| **paid**      | Payment transferred. Processing to activate.                                         |
| **active**    | Investment is live and running for the agreed duration.                              |
| **completed** | Project finished. Principal and profit have been returned to your NajmBahar account. |
| **cancelled** | Investment was cancelled before activation.                                          |
| **refunded**  | Payment was returned to your NajmBahar account.                                      |

<Warning>
  You can cancel a **pending** or **paid** investment before it becomes active. Once an investment reaches **active** status, cancellation is no longer available.

## Cancelling an Investment

To cancel an investment that has not yet been activated, go to **Investments → My Investments**, open the investment you want to cancel, and click **Cancel Investment**. The platform reverses the GOL transfer and updates the status to `cancelled` or `refunded`.

## Notifications

The platform sends you a notification whenever your investment status changes. Key notification events include:

* **Investment accepted** — your investment transitions from `paid` to `active`
* **Project completed** — the project owner has closed the project and returned capital
* **Investment status changed** — any other status transition on your investment

Check your notification centre from the top navigation bar to stay up to date.

## Viewing Your Investments

Navigate to **NajmBahar → Investments → My Investments** to see a full list of your investments across all projects. Each entry shows the project name, your invested amount, your expected return, the current status, and key dates. Click any entry to see the full investment detail, including the linked transaction record.
